In the late 80's Pelham Puppets made a new range of puppets which took on the looks of Fruit and Vegetables, but collectors call them "Fruites and Veggies".

Early versions seem to have more felt section in the legs and arms and 13 different version are known
These are the ones we are aware that were produced

  • Apple - green with Rosy cheeks, open mouth Full oval eyes
  • Carrot - orange - looks like a carrot
  • Greengage - green without rosy cheeks, open mouth, Full oval eyes
  • Leek - looks like a leek
  • Lemon - yellow without rosy cheeks, closed mouth, bottom of eye flat
  • Melon - yellow with rosy cheeks, open mouth, full oval eyes
  • Orange - orange, closed mouth, half eyes
  • Parsnip - cream - looks like a carrot
  • Plum - dark red - round body, open mouth, bottom of eye flat
  • Potato - looks like a potato
  • Radish - dark red, pointed mould at bottom where changes to white, open mouth, full oval eyes
  • Strawberry - Red, open mouth, full oval eyes
  • Swede - orange / yellow, pointed mould at bottom, closed mouth, full oval eyes which are raised

They were normally supplied in a candy stripe window box but the last ones were in a plastic bubble pack
