Very Early Wonky ToyWooden hands This picture shows the early hands made from carved wood with no fingers used on puppets in late 1947/1948. The wrist joint is two simple screw eyes. The construction is one piece of wood. |

Early large Composite handsThis picture shows the early large composite hands with closed fingers used on SM puppets in the late 40's and early 50's. Very much like the later version but the thumb is more prominent when viewed from the palm, also the fingers from the side have a slight bend. |
