This picture shows the early brown box used just after Wonky Toys Ltd was renamed Pelham Puppets. Only produced after October 1948 and into the early 50's.

1949 - 1956

Next came the Yellow Lid type boxes with colorful characters printed all over them.
There are three types of Yellow Lid type box, 2 small types and 1 large one.
The 2 smaller ones can be aged by the characters printed on them.

1956 - 1962
The early one had a picture of Mad Hatter on the side just down from the Pelham Puppets logo.

1962 - 1969
The later one had the Snake Charmer in place of Mad Hatter.

1963 - 1986
The larger box was used for the big SL Puppets such as the larger ones in the 1963 Animal range.

Repair or Temporary Box
Used to return puppets sent back for repair or when the factory ran out of boxes. This one contains a 1966 SL Wolf

Next came the Yellow window type boxes with colorful characters printed all over them.
There are several types of Yellow window box.

1968 - 1970
Next came Yellow box with the clear acetate window, first seen in 1968, It was still in production to the mid to late 1980's. The band across the centre was added in about 1970

1970 - 1986
Next came Yellow box with the clear acetate window, first seen in 1968, It was still in production to the mid to late 1980's. The band across the centre was added in about 1970

As Pelham Puppets made so many different types of puppet there were a lot of different boxes for the puppets that did not fit the normal boxes, below are the boxes for the longer style puppets

As Pelham Puppets made so many different types of puppet there were a lot of different boxes for the puppets that did not fit the normal boxes. Below are the other boxes
