"Lion on my back" … and who is the master now?

The Worlds tallest lion and a seven foot golliwog are off to Russia ---- to improve international relations!

They'll be among the guests of honour at the British Trade Fair in Moscow on May 19. And if you think there are strings attached, you're right. For they are puppets. And they're being sent by Bob Pelham, boss of a puppet-making firm.

Every year thousands of hand-made, animated puppets from one-foot to seven-foot high set out from the factory in Marlborough, Wilts., for destinations all over the world.

It's enough to make a Lion laugh! Puppet-boss Bob Pelham gives Leo a piggy-back to the ship taking them to Moscow for the British Trade Fair. Other passengers will include a 30-piece puppet band that dances in perfect harmony to music. Right:- What little girl wouldn't like to be in Lucy Jackson's place?
